Pastor Dave, originally from Champaign, Illinois, has worked in ministry for 50 plus years. He and his wife became involved with Trinity over 22 years ago and he’s been the senior pastor for the last 20 years. Pastor Dave has pushed through some challenging times with the passing of his wife, Janet, and navigating through Covid in the past few years. He now continues to work to move the church forward in growth, both spiritually and numerically. He enjoys networking with people in the community and also enjoys being the chaplain for the Champaign and Urbana Fire and Police Departments.

           He is an avid sports fan of the hometown University of Illinois, ‘Fighting Illini’. He has three children that have grown to become amazing adults, and thoroughly enjoys spending time with, and going to the many activities of his 9 grandchildren.

          Pastor Dave graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He loves to preach and believes that God’s Word is sufficient for every challenge a person may face in life. He further believes that God’s plan is for every believer to be a vibrant part of a local church, demonstrating God’s love and grace to the world.

     Pastor Dave J has moved around.  His dad was a pastor, and he grew up in KY but has lived most of his life somewhere in Central / East Central IL.  While he worked at State Farm, God was working on his heart and called him to follow in his dad’s footsteps.  He was a pastor for about 10 years before he became a chaplain where he has ministered both with Carle and OSF for roughly eight years and has a continuing relationship as a chaplain with OSF.

     He enjoys running and hiking, has a phenomenal wife and two great daughters who are also walking with the Lord, and strives to be a man of faith honoring God in all he does.  While not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, his goal is that God is glorified in him and through him in all that he does.  He is honored and humbled to join the staff of Trinity in December 2024.
